Come with us on a tour of the flavors of the famous Châteauneuf-du-Pape region.
For generations, the winemakers from the Brunel family have been producing wines here that have divine potential for archiving. They harvest their grapes by hand in pebbly vineyards, and process the individual varieties separately. Only later do they blend them into magnificent harmony.
When the wines are young they smell of red and black fruit, and they’re fresh and satisfying. With years of archiving their flavors blend and combine. An interplay of aromas and flavors arises that no young wine in the world can provide.
Discover how the wines that have been waiting for a whole decade in a cellar have transformed and become wiser. Let your taste buds judge how different the same wine can taste if you give it even more time to mature.
“I’ve selected three exceptional vintages from André Brunel. Archiving also has an influence on the taste of the wine, and that’s why the flavors are so fully developed in these wines. Of course you can archive them and their potential will continue to deepen over the coming years.”
Jan Pánek, sommelier and founder of Via Tempia
What can you expect in this wine tasting set?
2010 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Cailloux Rouge André Brunel
The winemakers in v Châteauneuf-du-Pape practically couldn’t catch their breath before the harvest of the 2010 vintage. They’d had an unusually chilly spring and dry summer. But even in the first tastings it was clear: this is one of the most exceptional wines they ever made. And all the more so, because only a modest amount was produced.
The wine takes on a deep red color. Its amazing fruity aroma is matched by its balanced, rich, and fresh taste. The aromas and flavor continue to develop with years of archiving, so you’ll enjoy the 2010 vintage more now than ever before.
2011 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Cailloux Rouge André Brunel
The year 2011 brought relief and joy to André Brunel. After lean years, a vintage rich in flavor as well as in volume came around. The hot months from April to June gave the grapes a rich taste and color and allowed them to grow to fullness.
The result is a perfectly balanced, fresh wine with many fruity notes. Full, satisfying, simply perfect for a tranquil evening.
2021 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Cailloux Rouge André Brunel
After a warm, humid summer a change came. Healthy, full, beautifully colored grapes. An exceptional, dark red wine was made from them. Look forward to its balanced and even opulent taste.
