Take a journey with us to the north of Spain. Here, you’ll find the renowned province of La Rioja and its typical Macabeo grape variety.

This is the one that gave rise to this golden wine with a smooth buttery taste. It smells like caramel candies and banana cake. And it will win you over at the first sip.

This wine has been waitinf for you since 2016. So you’ll be tasting it when it’s reached a magnificent maturity.

Archival white wine: a rarity with the scent of caramel candies

Finding a truly good white wine for archiving is quite a feat. But we were able to do it. The archival Urbina Viura Crianza 2016 has matured to fullness during these years.

What does it smell like? Imagine a table set for Sunday breakfast. White flowers are in a vase. And a banana cake with caramel, dried mango, papayas and spice poured over it sits on your plate. There are yellow apples and citrus fruits to accompany it.

The taste flows smoothly. It’s fresh, and lightened by the wine’s acidity. The tones of apricots, melon, grapefruit, and honey will remain in your mouth for a long time.

It was created slowly, in an oak barrel

The winemakers from the Urbina family selected the traditional Macabeo variety. Their selected grapes, harvested from 20-year-old vines, were macerated for 48 hours. And then they put their wine to rest for 6 months in barrels made from French and American oak.

They aren’t in a hurry for their wine at the Urbina winery. That’s why this wine has been waiting for you – since 2016. Will it find you?

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How is the wine packaged for transport?

  • What does the wine actually look like?

You can view all the wines in the 360-degree photographs that are provided for each of them. These are authentic photographs. When the bottles are have been stored in varying conditions all of them are photographed and you can choose from among them.

  • Is archival wine suitable for drinking?

Only a winery’s best wines are put into archives. They have their exceptional taste, which is incomparable with the taste of young wines.
