Inside them await light floral and fruit-scented vintages of Riesling. They come from Bennwihr, a small piece of land in Alsace with extraordinary conditions for growing grapevines. Here, Michel Fonné is following the tradition of his winemaking ancestors, which reaches back to 1747.

2014 Riesling Grand Cru Michel Fonné

A balanced, posy semi-dry wine with an exquisite light yellow color. You’ll be surprised by its well-rounded, fresh taste. It tingles your nose with an aroma of passion fruit and quince. The vines this Riesling grew on are in Mandelbergu, which translates to “hill of almond trees”. Can you detecet the almond tones?

The 2014 Riesling seems made for archiving. Each year inscribes new tastes into it. You’ll have a wonderful time combining it with fish or fruity desserts.

2016 Riesling Grand Cru Michel Fonné

This Riesling arose from a year that offered an abundant harvest. It lasted from mid-September all the way into November and it gave rise to a refreshing semi-dry wine rich in various tastes and aromas.

The popular wine magazine Wine Enthusiast wrote about it: “Earthiness, mashed apples, and lemon peel form an attractive, well-rounded aroma. On the palate you’ll detect earthy and lemony elements with a lively freshness.”

2018 Riesling Grand Cru Michel Fonné

The 2018 vintage will be remembered by Alsatian winemakers as atypical in its weather but generous in the amount and quality of grapes. The result is a very aromatic Riesling with spicy notes. You’ll find its fruitiness balanced with freshness delightful.
